A Resolution to Remember

"We will open the book. Its pages are blank. We are going to put words on them ourselves. The book is called Opportunity and its first chapter is New Year's Day." - Edith Lovejoy Pierce

What if on New Years instead of claiming a resolution, we had to give everyone else their resolution? I'd be willing to bet that if you thought about that for even 15 seconds, you knew exactly what you'd give and to who. Maybe you even smiled at the idea of telling your closest friend, relative, colleague, coworker, or sibling that for 2011, they would have to x, y or z.

Do you wonder what their expressions would be? Do you wonder if they'd be insulted or if they'd be open to the proposal?

What about you? If someone approached you and gave you your resolution for the new year, how would you act, feel, think? Would you see the recommendation as a way to help you move forward, or as an insult?

Regardless, you have to smirk a little at how this world would look if every new years instead of us making our claim to the new year, we all were diligently writing the ideas we have for others...from a place of love and support of course.

Are you ready for a challenge?
As people, we are connected to, you guessed it, other people. They can see, feel, and hear our challenges, insecurities, strengths, and goals from simply being around us. When it comes to your resolution this year, or your goals for any moment in life, find the ones you trust and love, and ask them for the help, honesty and friendship to grow yourself this year and accomplish what you desire.
